54th World Congress Porto Alegre, 14th-17th November 2010
EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION UNTIL 15 SEPTEMBER! The 54th IFHP World Congress will be held in Porto Alegre, Brazil. The congress will be hosted by the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS)and will take place from 14th-17th November 2010.

The theme of the Congress is 'Building Communities in the City of the Future'. The main issues to be dealt with during the three-day congress are:
- How can tomorrow’s cities be more socially equal, sustainable & affordable?
- How can communities be included in the city of the future?
- Can the urban spaces created by the modernist design of cities promote community life?
Besides the usual plenary and working sessions and debates, the congress programme also includes a Young Professionals Award, a Student Competition, a Call for Papers, Posters & Projects, implementation laboratories, study visits and social events.
Before and after the congress programme, pre- and post congress professional tours are being organised. A specially important visit will be to the fascinating modernist city and capital of Brazil, Brasilia, which celebrates its 50st birthday this year. Also Curitiba and the Iguaçu waterfalls are part of the pre-congress professional tour. After the congress, an optional programme has been put together, including visits to Rio de Janeiro, Salvador da Bahia, Ouro Preto and Belo Horizonte.
