Bas van Leeuwen is an experienced practitioner in the field of urban governance and has been working for the municipality of Amsterdam for six years. He started in the management trainee programme and has had a leading role in the participatory process in which the Amsterdam Structural Vision 2040 has been made. Currently he is the advisor of the board of directors of the six departments involved in urban planning of the municipality. Bas has volunteered as an editor of the Dutch magazine Agora for five years until last year. He finished his MSc in Metropolitan studies of the University of Amsterdam and Free University Berlin in 2005. Bas is planning to finish his Masters in City Administration from the Netherlands School of Public Governance summer 2012.
