Robert Chicoine has been working in the field of urban and regional planning for more than 26 years, including 14 years in different municipalities and 12 years as a private consultant.  Holder of a Master of Business Administration (MBA) specialized in the municipal field, Mr. Chicoine also holds degrees in urban planning and civil engineering. His knowledge and expertise allowed him to supervise and coordinate multidisciplinary teams (urban and regional planning, urban design, regulation, civil engineering, transport, land surveying, etc) both on a local and regional intervention scale. As head of planning, he worked out various development strategies. In particular, he acted as project manager on several mandates such as the revision and conception of regional and local master plans, urban planning by-laws (zoning, construction, implantation and architectural integration, etc), urban design concepts and particular studies.


Mr. Chicoine holds great knowledge of the stages of planning and intervention both at provincial and national level. Mr. Chicoine has been, from 2006 to 2012, serving as President of the Quebec professional planners institute (Ordre des urbanistes du Québec) and as an administrator of the Canadian Institute of Planners. As an official representative of Quebec planners, his roles and responsibilities led him to take an active part in many economic missions and events (conferences, symposium, lectures, etc) in which he initiated official representations for the institute.


Mr. Robert Chicoine is thus recognized in the professional environment of Quebec urban planners for his great qualities of leadership and as a respected project manager.
