Implementation Labs

The Implementation Lab (IL) is an interactive session in which host partners work together “on the spot” with International Intervision Institute (III) and IFHP partners and topical experts.Description: --break->The Implementation Lab is meant to give momentum to local/regional projects by implementing concepts like Multifunctional and Intensive Land Use (MILU), combining local knowledge with external expertise and a “fresh perspective”. The Implementation Lab can be considered a ‘Laboratory’ or ‘Pressure Cooker,’ whereby all partners work together with the host partner on one or two challenging sites, creating useful and practical solutions for the sites in question. Additionally, those who take part in an Implementation Lab become part of a broad network of professionals in all sectors of housing and planning. [More about the Implementation Lab process and working methods]

Given the wide reach of the III’s partners and IFHP’s membership base, an Implementation Lab can address a wide variety of topical challenges, including spatial & land use solutions, environmental risk management concepts, architectural ideas, social problems and crime prevention, process organization, financing and policy strategies. [More about III partner expertise areas and the six areas of concern for an Implementation Lab]

So, if you are struggling with a challenging issue in your city or region and would like to work intensively with III partners in a unique ‘pressure cooker’ format to find practical solutions, please do get in touch with the IFHP Secretariat for more information on hosting an Implementation Lab.
