Event – Sabaudia Summer School, September 1-13
New public places for Sabaudia between past and future.
The IFHP Sabaudia Summer School on Urban Design 2008 was held under the auspices of the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning for Engineering (SAD) of the Sapienza University Rome and the Municipality of Sabaudia Department of Culture, Tourism and Entertainment.
The central theme of the Summer School was "New public places for Sabaudia between past and future.". This project is among the activities planned by the Center for Documentation Sabaudia Multimedia. Participants in the Summer School (Italians, Palestinians, Poles and Romanians) developed, with the help of teachers and tutors of the SAD, planning scenarios for a new system of public spaces in Sabaudia.
The main objective of work was that of improving the functional and aesthetic quality through the implementation of a system of public spaces and pedestrian use prevalent.
The Summer School took place from Sept. 1-13. On day 12 an international jury assessed the work of participants. The jury and the city were very positive about the results.
