International Conference Liverpool, 1-3 June 2008

Cultural regeneration: the return of the city.

Image

As part of its programme as European Capital of Culture 2008, celebrating 800 years of history, Liverpool hosted the IFHP Annual International Conference.  As “a city with a strong reputation for effective regeneration”, Liverpool promoted discussion and the exchange of best practices in planning and regeneration among international experts.

At the successful IFHP conference organised with partners TCPA and Liverpool County Council, some 250 participants from 35 countries had the opportunity of listening to top class speakers and learning about the remarkable metamorphosis that Liverpool has undergone in recent years.

The Liverpool conference also marked a significant step forward in the collaboration with ISOCARP as a Memorandum of Understanding was signed to intensify the working relationship between the two organisations.
