Cities will accommodate 90% of the world’s population growth, account for 50% of global CO2 emissions and consume 70% of energy resources. That confronts us with a fair number of problems. How will new residents be accommodated? Where and how will they live? How will they move around, and where to? What energy will they use? And what about their food?

Blog - Bogotá is known worldwide for its bus rapid transit (BRT) system, TransMilenio. Initiated by the former mayor Enrique Peñalosa, it was implemented in December 2000 with a planning horizon of 7-8 years covering 3 phases of construction. The system is a fleet of red busses with a capacity of up to 270 passengers with separate bus lanes and elevated stations allowing fast, safe and efficient transportation.
