IFHP at Public Spaces International Congress in Latin America

"Public Spaces" in the city is one of the most relevant subjects in the field of contemporary Urbanism and Architecture. With the large urban expansions that have taken place in many cities in recent decades, public spaces play a crucial role as integrating urban factors. The rich, varied, international event counts on high quality speakers, debates, paper presentations and activities, hoping to effectively contribute to improving public spaces in our cities.
The contribution of IFHP to this event is the result of efforts IFHP has dedicated to explore and compare the limits and values of processes of co-creation of public spaces and the potentials expressed by actions of self-built community spaces. Giulia Maci, architect, IFHP project manager, will present the outcomes from:
1/ Design lab Making cities together: planners becoming placemakers held in Nairobi, Kenya, May 4-8
2/ Yes we can! Reinvent public spaces, an international laboratory on self-built community spaces at Biennale of Public Space 2015 in Rome, Italy, May 21-23
Before the Congress URBEGO will run a three day workshop within the framework of the Research programme YEI - Youth Engagement Index and the results will be presented in one of the session at the congress.
The Latin American Public Spaces International Congress will be followed by the IFHP Brazilian Co-operative Housing Upgrading LAB

Furthermore, the event intends to propose public debate and highlight the topic, involving public managers and technicians from the public and private sectors, as well as any other interested parties.
