How can urban innovations contribute to create not only efficient, technology driven future cities, but also liveable, human centric and design driven cities?

About

New technologies are constantly creating opportunities for novel innovative urban solutions. The increasing capacity to collect and analyse ‘big data’ is providing new insights into our common behaviour in cities. Technological developments are enabling more efficient cities, simultaneously disrupting, improving and forming a basis to imagine new services at lower costs and using fewer resources.

With the rapid transfer of technologies and new innovations around the world it is sometimes difficult to see through the fog. Which technologies, innovative solutions or services will embed themselves across cities of all scales and complexities? Why do these new urban innovations matter? And can we foresee how such urban innovations will contribute to create not only efficient future cities, but also livable, human centric and design driven cities?

In collaboration with the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on the Future of Cities, Danish Design Centre, the Danish Design Council and the International Federation of Housing and Planning we are debating urban innovations and our common urban future at the Inspiring Future Urban Innovations event in Copenhagen.
