Professional Visit to Wrocław, Poland

Wrocław, Poland

With the help of the Wrocław University of Technology (Faculty of Architecture) and the City of Wrocław, IFHP is currently making arrangements for a professional visit to the City of Wrocław in Poland from 26th - 28th April 2012.

Wrocław was chosen as an excellent location for a professional visit because of two reasons. First, with a population of ~650.000 habitants, we can use the city's lens to study important topics applicable to medium sized European cities. Secondly, because of its multi-cultural roots and the unique experience of a changing population after the Second World War, it is an interesting case study of building local identity and overcoming historical burdens.

Redeveloped after WWII under varying ideologies, economic situations and architectural trends, it is presently a site where it is possible to see how such a mixed urban environment looks and functions. Take the unique opportunity to be shown around by local experts and planners for two days!
