This Online Conference will bring together ideas from around the world about how advances in technology shape our environment. We are keen to attract papers that provide a perspective from outside the traditional realm of ‘planning and design’ as well as papers that draw on multi-disciplinary material. We hope to offer insights to help improve the built environment - our cities, towns, rural communities – and the natural environment.
The Housing Working group has been reactivated through a first meeting in London. In the meeting the aim and a preliminary program were discussed and stated. In line with IFHP’s mission statement, the main aim of the working group is to become a knowledge catalyst for IFHP members either working in, or with a special interest in housing themes. Some of the objectives connected with this aim are: provide opportunity for dialogue about emerging policies and practices, to monitor pilot projects.
The United Nations Rio+20 summit achieved its first success last night when a guide to 100 ready and available sustainable solutions was presented at the Copacabana Palace in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Behind this tangible outcome is the Sustainia initiative, which IFHP and Realdania has proudly partnered with to help build a sustainable future.

"A Decade of Planning" is a new initiative bringing together planners, urban professionals and politicians to discuss new visionary approaches to improving the livability and quality of life in the cities of tomorrow. This initiative is a partnership with IFHP, AESOP and ECTP-CEU

The report of the 55th IFHP World Congress, The Impact of Housing and Planning on the Economy, is now available digitally for IFHP Members. The Congress report includes presentation texts from many of the keynotes and parallel session presenters (presentations also available in PDF). For those who were unable to join us in Tallinn, it's a great chance to learn more about the topic from international scholars, policy makers and practitioners!
