IFHP Council Summit 2016 provided a platform for invited experts to engage and debate the role of IFHP in taking the New Urban Agenda recommendations forward – towards implementation.
The City of Medellín, Colombia, has been conferred the Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize 2016 for its remarkable transformation over the past two decades. The IFHP President was part of the council that selected the winning city.
The IFHP has welcomed Britain’s oldest housing and planning charity, the Town and Country Planning Association (TCPA) as its newest national chapter. The TCPA will act as a national focal point of the IFHP for members and interested individuals in the UK.
IFHP seeks cities as partner for The Housing Academy to host an implementation lab in 2016-17 as well as actively engage in labs in other cities.

On January 28th, the IFHP in conjunction with The Danish Town Planning Institute invited the Danish network of municipalities, planners, developers and community to an afternoon dedicated to the housing of refugees. Continue reading for an overview of the afternoon and the outcomes of the meeting.
